How to Become a Truck Driver

Train for a CDL

The moment you decide to start your truck driving career, you will need to obtain a CDL or Commercial Drivers License to start driving our trucks. WDS Enterprises has the ability to provide CDL training as well as tuition reimbursement if qualified. In most cases, obtaining a CDL takes as little as 8 weeks. Truck drivers in Michigan can choose where they would like to train for their CDL so long as it is a qualified and reputable program.

Pass Our Exams

After you have completed your CDL training program, you must provide WDS Enterprises with the necessary information. You must be over the age of 21 years to cross state lines. If working in just the regional area of Michigan, the age requirement is 18 years and up. You must pass a physical exam as well as a drug and alcohol test, along with an educational exam determining your skills and education level in truck driving experience.

Start Driving

The final step in starting your truck driving career is to get out on the road! After you’ve completed your CDL training and your exams within WDS Enterprises, we provide you with truck driving jobs instantly whether you’re planning on working regionally in the state of Michigan or OTR. In the first year of truck driving, you can earn more than $40,000 with amazing benefits such as health insurance, life insurance, safety bonuses, and more.
